"Rikutaro," the mascot character of Okinawa Karate, made its debut at "Naha Dragon Boat Race Festival".

Golden Week 2024 has come to an end. How did you spend your vacation?

"Naha Dragon Boat Race Festival" is one of Okinawa's most popular festivals during this time of the year. It is the biggest festival in Okinawa GW, in which participants and spectators take part in rowing competitions held in various communities such as schools and companies, using boats called "haryu-sen" with dragon decorations on their bowtips.

The "Uganbaarii" held on the last day of the festival is also an important traditional event to pray for safety at sea.

Naha Port Shinko Wharf, where the Naha Hurley is held, is usually lined with various food stalls centered around a large stage, attracting both locals and tourists, making it a very lively event.

The Okinawa Traditional Karatedo Promotion Association participated in supporting the "2nd Okinawa Karate Boys and Girls World Championships" PR booth exhibited at this venue from May 3 to 5 this year! Our mascot character "Rikutaro" made his debut at the event.

During the event, which was very exciting with many visitors, including a kawara-wari (roof tile breaking) experience, the tournament support song "Zenryoku Zenkai Kokoro Gishi" sung by "Kiiyama Shoten" was performed for the first time, and with the finale fireworks, the anticipation for the tournament in August was quickly lifted.

Thank you to everyone who came to the event.
